AOE Arts Council presents a unique arts evening in Ottawa
Ottawa (Ontario) – AOE Arts Council (AOE) is excited to present its much awaited celebration of the arts, their annual fundraiser ARTinis. The event takes place at the Shenkman Arts Centre on November 6 starting at 6:30 p.m. In its seventh year, ARTinis provides artists and art lovers a chance to mingle with business and community leaders to show their support for the Arts Council’s programming, services and resources. If met, this year’s $35,000 goal will have an impact on the growth of Ottawa’s vibrant artistic community and AOE Arts Council’s initiatives such as a new artist-in-residence program: Art Place, to be launched on Nov 18.
“ARTinis is a fantastic night and a unique arts experience in Ottawa,” says new Executive Director, Victoria Steele. “It is very important for AOE Arts Council to bring the community together and recognize the value of the arts in our lives.”
Guests will be immersed in a water-themed evening complete with delicious bites and drinks, music from DJ/VJ The Latest Artists, and unique art installations and performances. Throughout the night, everyone will be entertained by flair bartending performed by Ottawa Cocktails, sip on distinguished wine provided by Savvy Company and get a taste of craft beer from Beau’s All Natural Brewery Co. Appetizers and sweet endings will be served by some of Ottawa’s finest caterers including Bowich Best Organic Sandwich, Cuisine & Passion, Dewan Catering, Epicuria and Tulips & Maple.
Guests will be able to walk through artistic installations in a temporary gallery for the evening. AOE Arts Council’s ARTinis will create an opportunity for local artists to interpret this year’s theme of water to include:
“This year’s theme – water – is one of my favourite photographic subjects; I’m very much looking forward to seeing what artists in the different disciplines will do with this limitlessly beautiful substance in what is sure to be a visually spectacular party!”, says photographer and AOE Arts Council member, Ruth Dick.
All proceeds from AOE Arts Council’s 2014 ARTinis will benefit Ottawa area artists through initiatives, programs, services and resources. Guests will be invited during the evening to bid on a silent auction and can purchase tickets for a chance to win two tickets anywhere Porter Airlines flies.
