I had the decided pleasure of speaking with Ingrid Hollander, owner and director of Ottawa’s Orange Art Gallery. This gallery has been around since 2010 and moved into their gorgeous new space in the city center two years ago. Since the move, Ingrid has curated a space that hosts a diverse and exciting collection, as well as weddings, fundraisers, cultural events. Most recently, Orange played host to the announcement of Ottawa 2017’s Arts funding program.
I asked Ingrid her thoughts on risk taking and careers in the arts, and she talked candidly about the business, and offers valuable insight into the future of bricks and mortar spaces in the digital age. Big thank you to Ingrid for the insight into this career path. Listen in to hear about her take on the major challenges and rewards of owning a gallery.
