Hub 3 – Summer Recap

It’s been a crazy summer and Hub 3 is buckling down on our final project with the Mentorship program.

Cody has been working hard at building up a social media presence and extending his hand for live performances. After a great open mic experience at Live on Elgin, he was the featured artist the following week. Check out some of those performances below:

Happiness – That Old Mixtape Original (Live)
The Person That I Saw When I Was Ten – That Old Mixtape Original (Live)

He’s been enjoying the musical blogging experience as of late and while becoming a full-time singer songwriter might not be the most attainable hand at the table, he’s learning more about the different directions that an arts-based background can take you.

Ariane, meanwhile, has been slowly but surely working towards a similar goal (though she’s not quite there yet) – a website, a soundcloud, a more active twitter, a facebook page, etc, etc. She also has some little gigs in the works with a couple of talented friends, so more to come on that!

EclipseOn a non-music related note though – she travelled to the states to visit her mother and siblings and catch the solar eclipse in totality (which was pretty incredible). Look out for the one in April 2024, Ottawa is just north of the path of totality!

Erin had a busy summer working at Ottawa Chamberfest, whose annual summer festival that brings in around 300 international artists went off without a hitch! She is continuing to work there as they launch the 2017-18 Concert Series.  She is also excited to become involved with Orkidstra, as a substitute cello instructor, while keeping up with gigs and other performances!

In their most meeting hub meeting, Hub 3 discussed their summers, sketched a more solid outline for their final project, and Cody helped with some skateboard troubles. It’s hard to believe that the end of the program is coming up so soon. Lots of work to be done still, so keep an eye out for updates!
